Vehicle Description

2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Hardtop For 10 years, the fourth generation Chevrolet Camaro dominated Mustangs on the street and the strip as it bridged the gap between GM's legacy small-block era and its LS powered future. Muscle car fans in search of a good deal should focus on the initial Z28 with the 275hp LT1 or the SS model with the 305hp V8 that came out three years later. For those with a bigger budget, the 1998-2002 Camaros borrow the Corvette's aluminum block 5.7-liter LS1, rated at up to 325 horsepower. Car and Driver, Sept. 2021, What to Buy For consignment, a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS coupe showing 77,160 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption. This one has a few tweaks and an LS3 engine, bringing the power up from the factory car's 325 horsepower to a dyno proven 425.73 ponies.  Exterior Red and black is a common combination used in pop culture, design, and branding. But we think it looks best on a fast car; case in point, this SS dolled up in Bright Rally Red, a black cloth wrapped C-pillar, hood scoop, and the fantastic addition the black 17-inch wheels with not only a red trim ring, but enough air between the spokes to reveal red Wilwood calipers. It makes for a bold statement, capped by the black SS callouts on the fenders and tail light panel. But wait, what's this? Robust black exhaust tips peek out from the bumper, another nice attention to detail, all under the shade of an epic integrated spoiler. Overall, the paint and body are excellent. Imperfections noted include chips, so fading and delamination of the red side molding, surface scratches, various scuffs, and chin scrapes.  Interior Basic black, formally known as ebony, is used on the interior beginning with smooth paneled inner doors with plastic switchgear and narrow storage bins, and both present cleanly. Black leather is the material of choice for the bucket seats with some wear at the entry point and wrinkles present on the driver's seat, but the passenger and rear 2+2's are in very nice condition. The monochromatic palette continues to the steering wheel with its few integrated thumb buttons, and the instrument cluster, a basic collection of only the most vital information. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD player now resides in the center stack along with the standard A/C panel while the automatic shifter rises from the plastic surrounds of the center console which affords one cup holder for the occupants to battle for. Charcoal carpet presents nicely as does the headliner that surrounds the T-tops. The cargo area is sculpted accept the t-tops and is spotless. Drivetrain Under the bridging strut tower brace sits a 6.2 liter 376ci LS3 V8, with a mild cam, Livernois Motorsports heads, a FAST RHS LSX-R intake and a FAST Big Mouth 92mm throttle body, but you don't have to take our word for it; everything is labeled or engraved. Oh, and showing cleanly. The 425 horsepower engine is backed by a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission and power is routed to a Strange Dana S60 rear end. Headers begin the exhaust process.  Undercarriage Clean conditions here as well where the red sway bars front and rear, and the red rear torque arm dress things up a bit. The dual exhaust leave from the headers and connects with a Speed Engineering muffler which sends off two tailpipes ending in the black tips. Power disc brakes are at all four wheels as we discovered earlier, and suspension includes that torque arm with coil springs in the back and coil springs in the front. Drive-Ability The fuel injection means an instant start and absolutely rocking exhaust note. In stock form, the SS sounded pretty good but this one is next level. It demonstrates power on demand in the field, great handling, and perfect tracking on 275/40ZR17 tires that have a late 2025 date code. All functions on board also work, and we take this back inside before we get a ticket! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of ou
